Cherry Selection gets the winning box!!
Kristina Kenneally, CEO of our charity partner, Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation, was at the market floor on November 9th, for the auspicious occasion in selecting from 4 of our wonderful representing wholesalers: Damian Hendriks from Goldenfruit, Hugh Malloy from Antico International, Domenic Pisciuneri from Allseasons Produce and Brendon Lai from Fresh Produce Group.
They all shared their wealth of knowledge of cherries whilst Kristina tasted from the hidden boxes to finally reveal her favourite cherry – Wandin Valley Farms to be the winner with Fresh Produce Group as their wholesaler and one of our event sponsors!! See video here.
QE Foodstores Crowned 2023 Cherry King!
What a fabulous night it was on Saturday – thank you to all those who attended, contributed, volunteered and enjoyed the evening with us!
An emotional speech by Dr Richard Mitchell, Head of the Kids Cancer Centre, had our Cherry Auction bidders fired up to dig deep! With the winning cherry box going for a whopping $50k this year!
Congratulations to QE Foodstores, Narinder Singh, Cherry Crown Winner of 2023! This amazing bid increased to $70,000 with a $20,000 donation from Sydney Markets Credit Services. A MASSIVE thank you.
