$1.75m to improve Horticultural Market Transparency

The Minister for Agriculture and Northern Australia, David Littleproud, announced today that a $653,950 government grant was given to a consortium led by Fresh Markets Australia for an online website with price and volume data for all fresh fruits and vegetables, as part of the $5.94m for projects to improve market transparency across perishable agricultural goods supply chains.  This information will assist growers to strike a fair deal with their buyers including the major supermarkets.
